This species inhabits the mountainous areas of central Honshu. So far, it has been recorded in Nagano, Yamanashi, and Fukushima prefectures, but it is probably widely distributed in the beech forest belt. It mainly inhabits the dead leaves of Quercus crispula. A pair of tubercles on the abdominal tergite VI of the male are well developed and curved inwards. Fungus-feeder.
